About the event

This hands-on printing workshop introduces you to the basics of the cyanotype printmaking process discovered in 1842, using watercolour paper, cyanotype paint and UV light to create your very own botanical images. Explore the history of early photography and make some interesting blueprints from dried botanical specimens in this unique printmaking class. You'll be guided throughout the making process by your talented teacher and you'll learn lots of interesting facts about historical printmaking as you craft. The cyanotype printing process allows you to create beautiful floral Prussian blueprints - join this craft workshop and learn about the history and chemistry of this method and make some unique pieces of botanical art to take home with you. Come with your friends or kids to experience an enjoyable creative craft and learn new skills. It's a fun workshop to try if you're looking for things to do in London. By the end of the session, you'll have a new appreciation for printmaking and you'll go away with the basic knowledge of this crafting process, allowing you to continue cyanotype printmaking on your own.
